Pulse

December 2022

A multimedia installation piece that features the use of Arduino, heartbeat sensor, and image output from Processing. I was inspired by the automation of the human body, which is both an organic and structured process. The back projection with tracing paper is created with Processing coding language and is connected to the serial port of the inflating black glove. The glove is then connected to an air pump that is controlled by Arduino which allows it to be inflated and deflated at a steady pace. The circular lines above contain organic and fluidity in their movements while the automatic motor movement creates a more structured and mechanical piece.

Projected images created through Processing, live data sent from hearbeat sensor through Arduino board.
