Southwark Park Stroll

Interactive installation, 2025, Southwark Park Galleries // Dilston Gallery

For Southwark Park Gallery, I am further developing my Microcosm of Identity project into a site-specific installation that explores the unseen connections between humans, their environment, and the invisible ecosystems that co-exist with us. Inspired by Donna Haraway’s Tentacular Thinking, the physical and cultural landscape of the gallery and its surrounding park, this iteration engages visitors in reflecting on the interconnectedness of nature, space, and human identity.

Site-Specfic Sampling

Sampling the gallery and park’s environment, I’ve cultivated bacteria from collected materials such as soil, leaves, and human interaction points within the space. These bacterial cultures are grown in petri dishes, each becoming a microcosmic reflection of the site.
By bridging this biological data with immersive digital technology, the work creates a dialogue between the natural and the virtual.

3D Scanning and Digital Transformation

Utilising PolyCam 3D scanning software to digitise the matured bacterial cultures from the petri dishes.
