“Waves of Perception” is an art installation inspired by the double slit experiment, a cornerstone of quantum physics that reveals the enigmatic nature of particles behaving differently when observed. Emulating this phenomenon, the installation features a live webcam feed that captures the audience and projects their moving images onto a metallic plate. This setup visualises the observer effect and challenges the conventional boundaries between observer and observed.

The metal plate, responsive to sound frequencies generated by an ultrasonic distance sensor, vibrates to audience proximity, altering the reflections. This interplay of sound, physical interaction, and visual feedback creates an ever-shifting image on the walls of the exhibition space. The reflected imagery, distorted by water ripples, engages with the themes of fluidity and perception while echoing the complex reality we live in.
